A PACIFIC CENTURY OF PEACE AND PROSPERITY (Part I)
China Backstabs Russia, Makes Peace Overture in Ukraine (Unity in Conflict)
THE PACIFIC CENTURY OF PEACE AND PROSPERITY
This is the first installment of a long form essay, that I will ultimately turn into another one of my books.
Problematique: It is very likely the cognitive revolution occurred at the same time language formed, as a result of radical population pressures and dietary changes. This leads in turn to understanding the axial age as consequence of an agricultural revolution, and the the enlightenments (Scottish,American,French) were a result of industrialization. Comparing enlightenments leads to the conclusion they require peace and prosperity as preconditions. Likewise, we can compare the Greek dark age with the early medieval dark age to understand that corruption, wars, diseases cause poverty and destroy knowledge. By understanding the causes of enlightenments and dark ages through comparisons thereof, policy makers can avoid the former and obtain the latter. Enlightenments and dark ages are both like a spiral of mutually reinforcing factors. Dark ages are definitely downward spirals, where poverty, war, and disease mutually reinforce. Hobbes describes the downward spiral very well in Leviathan. So it is very likely enlightenments are similarly spirals, namely upward spirals where peace, prosperity, and knowledge production and exchange flourish. By understanding the caues of enlightenments and dark ages through comparisons we may get ideas about how to spark another cognitive revolution to enable communications with animals or distant stars -- or at least to enjoy peace and prosperity or at worst to avoid war poverty crime and chaos by building a grand pacific century of peace and prosperity.
I. LANGUAGE IS A VIRUS: PROTO-WORLD
Once, there was likely only one human language. Hebrew, Mesopotamian, Mayan, and Hindi religions alike claim there was once only one language. Myths and legends increasingly are shown to be oral accounts of actual historic events, though embellished to make them more memorable and enjoyable as lively stories rather than dry recitations of facts. It is quite likely there was only one language on earth at one point. This is known as the "proto world hypothesis". If true, this means when learning new languages we can and should look for parallels to our own grammar and cognates to the other language. This facilitates language learning, making acquisition of new vocabulary and grammar easier by relating it to what we already know.
The proto-world hypothesis proposes that the commonalities found in human languages are the result of a single ancestral language, rather than innate biological factors. This hypothesis is supported by the population bottleneck that occurred around 70,000 years ago, during which the human population is believed to have shrunk to as few as 10,000 individuals.
The idea behind the proto-world hypothesis is that at some point in human history, there was a single language spoken by all humans. As humans migrated and settled in different parts of the world this language began to diversify and split into different language families. Over time, these language families continued to evolve and diverge, eventually leading to the thousands of distinct languages spoken today.
The population bottleneck provides evidence for this hypothesis, as it suggests that at one point in human history, the population was small enough that it is plausible that a single language was spoken. If there had been multiple languages at this time, it is unlikely that they would have survived the bottleneck, as small populations are more susceptible to language loss.
Furthermore, the commonalities found in human languages, such as the use of recursion and the presence of certain sound patterns, support the proto-world hypothesis. These features are found in all human languages, suggesting that they were present in the ancestral language and passed down to all subsequent languages.
The proto-world hypothesis also has implications for our understanding of the evolution of human language. If there was a single ancestral language, it suggests that language evolved gradually over time, rather than emerging fully formed in modern humans. This gradual evolution would have been shaped by historical, cultural, and social factors, rather than being hard-wired into the human brain.
Additionally, the proto-world hypothesis challenges the idea that language is innate and hard-wired into the human brain. If this were the case, we would expect to see more similarities between languages, rather than the complex and varied systems that we observe.
The proto-world hypothesis provides a compelling explanation for the commonalities found in human languages. The population bottleneck that occurred around 70,000 years ago provides evidence for the idea that there was once a single human language, which then diversified and evolved into the thousands of distinct languages spoken today. This hypothesis challenges the idea that language is innate and hard-wired into the human brain, and highlights the importance of historical, cultural, and social factors in the evolution of human language.
Proto-world thereby provides a language learning lemma: if indeed, all languages are ultimately descendants of a global language, then we can and should look for cognates and parallel structures between any of the languages we are studying.
I anticipate that a well trained AI model properly prompted would be able to derive proto-world's basic vocabulary, which in turn would serve as a lemma for linguists and as a guide for archaeologists.
An alternative hypothesis, that humans were genetically modified by an alien civilization, though intriguing, seems much less likely since we appear to have had no contact with any alien civilization from some other world at least not yet.

We are in fact getting very good compliance from China about Russia. We should simply explain TikTok as a case of reciprocity. Until google, facebook, and youtube are permitted in China the USA can and should simply ban their Chinese homologues in the USA. A really smart US approach would figure out how to use the overseas Chinese an Taiwan to get reciprocity OR mutual bans. Hey, if China wants to ban google, ok, but then why shouldn't the USA ban Chinese google equivalent baidu?
Still, because we are getting good cooperation from China the West needs to be wise about its Chinese economic policies. The Chinese are not giving good compliance from benevolence, rather from pragmatism: so you must give them something valuable in return.
Reminder: The Other Side Executes its Traitors.
Remember this the next time some neverserved whines about Spylyin' Assange, Whistleblob Snowden, or my favorite Pornycorn, Manning.
Blabby, leaky NOPSEC USA just better figure out that it can't successfully run agents in China. Really. Don’t bother, for your own good. Many people have no sympathy for "lost" foreign assets, after all they are traitors to their own side. However, these are all people, some were desperate, others were idealists, stupid enough to believe your propaganda. Yet, if you have someone who is willing to risk their life to help you then you should be less cavalier about their death.
We should all prefer to avoid this sort of fatal outcome, no?

I figure the girls singing Ode to Joy (An die Freude) are Miao or Li, and that they are singing in their dialect, and I also suppose Mo Si Seng is a dialect for 模式生 or 莫斯生
Thing is, 1. this isn’t the only Chinese translation of An die Freude but 2. It is really well translated but isn’t exactly accurate.
The English here is translated from the Chinese, which was translated, sort of, from the German. It is also beautiful but is not an exact reflection of the original German.
Anyway, here are the lyrics, the English is a brilliant translation of the Chinese.
