These things I do are horrible, evil, and unfortunately are necessary. Thieves and murderers don't stop unless we make them stop. They regard patience, mercy, or dialogue as signs of a sucker, and suckers deserve to be taken advantage of, in their twisted criminal logic.

Most descriptions of Human-Alien contact involve "we meet the aliens, and it is war" in one way or other, whether War of the Worlds, Enemy Mine, The Forever War, or Starship Troopers, or Alien. Does this betray something about the human race, that we are fearful or even hateful? Or does it reveal something about drama, that conflict driven stories are most interesting?

"The aliens were capable of at least rudimentary thought and communication. This is being charitable to them. Let me tell you about their so called 'civilization'.

Their stench hit me first. Like burning orange flowers, sickening, pungent. The smell worms its way into every crevice.

Their feeding habits... ... made my stomach churn. They devour anything, I mean ANYTHING! I've seen them sink their teeth into flesh that wasn't even recognizable as animal anymore. ... it's all fair game to them. Faithless, polygamous... they have no concept of loyalty or commitment. I guess that goes with having four eyes and six legs. Is that fur? It sickens me to the core to think of the suffering endured by their women, trapped in servitude and degradation.

But perhaps the most repulsive of all is their burial customs. When their ruler dies, his retainer take all his closest servants down the burrow with him. Then, they are all slaughtered like lambs. Can you imagine the horror of being entombed for eternity alongside your master, no light, food, water just the wait till death. Or, stabbed “mercifully” in the tomb, your blood staining the earth beneath you? It's barbaric, it's revolting and utterly devoid of sense or compassion.

Their death cult goes on! They literally worship the dead. They revere the dead as gods, bowing and scraping before their rotting corpses. The very thought of it makes my skin crawl. Worshiping death itself... it's the height of folly, the epitome of idiocy. Their so-called intelligence is nothing more than a facade, a thin veneer over a cesspool of depravity.

But perhaps what disgusts me the most is their language... if you can call it that. They don't speak, oh no. They sing, sort of. A cacophony of guttural noises and unearthly melodies that grate against the ears like nails on a chalkboard or a croaking frog. And their writing... isn't. No letters or words, just pictures, scribbles. It's a mockery of artistry. Meaningless symbols scrawled across their walls like the ravings of a madman.

They waste their time with calligraphy, obsessing over meaningless glyphs while their society crumbles around them. Memorizing useless trivia is the height of intelligence for these .. things. They love to memorize and recite their singsong nonsense, as if remembering is so important, or those were actually words and sentences. I'm not fooled.

I've seen the horrors of the Eriadnian “civilization”, and I cannot and will not comprehend it. They are monsters, every last one of them. And it is my duty, my solemn obligation, to eradicate them from the face of the universe. For the sake of all that is good and pure, our children, and our future, they must be destroyed."

“Ah, Tau Epsiolinia... the so-called pinnacle of civilization. Try not to laugh at the bipeds apeing our time honored eternal traditions, it isn’t a mockery of civil decorum, usually. Laughable motions of barbarians incapable of self-control. Allow me to peel back the facade and expose the festering underbelly of their decrepit society.

Let us start with their insatiable greed. Tau Epsiolinians are consumed by a voracious appetite for wealth and power, trampling over the weak and vulnerable in their relentless pursuit of dominance. Their elites lounge in opulent luxury, feasting upon the fruits of exploitation while the masses languish in poverty and despair. The stench of inequality permeates every corner of Tau Epsiolinian society, a foul miasma choking the life out of any semblance of justice or fairness.

Tau Epsiolinia's political landscape is a quagmire of deceit and treachery, with politicians and bureaucrats lining their pockets at the expense of the common folk. Let’s not forget their hypocrisy when it comes to morality. Tau Epsiolinians claim to be beacons of enlightenment and progress, yet their history is stained with the blood of countless atrocities. Colonization, imperialism, genocide... the list goes on and on. They preach tolerance and acceptance while simultaneously demonizing those who dare to defy their narrow-minded worldview. Theirs is a culture built upon a foundation of lies and hypocrisy, a house of cards teetering on the brink of collapse.

Perhaps the most damning indictment of Tau Epsiolinia is their utter disregard for the natural world. They pillage and plunder with reckless abandon, despoiling the land and fouling the air with their toxic emissions. Climate change ravages the planet, yet they continue to cling to their destructive ways, heedless of the consequences. Theirs is a society on the brink of ecological collapse, a civilization careening towards its own self-destruction.

Tau Epsiolinia is a cesspool of corruption and depravity, a blight upon the galaxy. Their flaws are myriad, their sins unforgivable. They are a stain upon the fabric of humanity, a cautionary tale of the dangers of unchecked greed, pride, arrogance, and hubris. Eriadnians Epsilonians compared with Chinese and Anglos

Eriadnians and Epsilonians find themselves in a similar situation to China (a nation I adore) and America, that wealthy multinational corporation masquerading as an entire continent or two. Anyone can be American. Anyone can make it in America.

They have entirely different governance models and origin stories.

There's a lot of space for cultural incomprehension, not just linguistic or historic between Chinese ("Eriadnian") and Anglophone (Tau Epsilonian) cultures.

I really worked hard to emphasize the worst aspects of imperial China, aspects of Chinese culture that the Chinese Communist Party went on to suppress. They had that revolution of theirs for reasons. There's no more foot binding, dancing is permitted, women can work, slavery was abolished. Contemporary Chinese and Anglophone culture independently alike sought to suppress the worst aspects of their histories, notably slavery but also sex inequality.

I'm deadly serious: I Love Chinese people and Chinese culture. But because some people are afraid, hateful, or ignorant of languages culture and/or history, I figure I better point out the negative HISTORICAL aspects of each to try to get you all to curb your warlike tendencies and also to give you insights on how we must prepare for the eventuality of contacting an alien civilization from some other planet.

Xi Jinping lays great emphasis on telling China's story well. Though, most of the film versions have really stupid physics. Then again war is stupid and it is literal fiction.

Forever War was most interesting for its accurate portrayal of time dilation and social evolution leading to future shock. It was surprisingly accurate. Radiation and the vast distance may well leave interstellar travel an impossibility, barring some as yet unseen breakthrough in unified field theory. It is through unified field theory that we would learn to polarize gravitrons on the space ship thus repelling it from earth, and then depolarize them to use the gravity of the destination to impel our ship forward. Because space-is-time-is-gravity I do not see a way to "fold space in on itself" though I do think our current model of physics will allow us to do better space exploration and development than we have so far.

Enemy Mine, like The Forever War, accurately ascribes the cause of the war to mutual distrust and misapprehension thanks to radically different culture and lack of communication as the key cause of the war.

Star Trek, V, and Battlestar Galactica are other examples. They deal with issues of hostile occupation by an occupier. Each is an entire series so would require their own studies. I am simply pointing to leads.

How does a small state defend itself?

What I am saying here is that China could, and should, develop a minimalist defensive posture along the lines of "You might win if you attack us, but we will make it so expensive and painful you will not." This is the only sensible strategy when confronted with over-match and also an effective deterrent, which serves other more sensible and realistic missions such as anti-piracy, counter-terrorism, humanitarian relief, and peacekeeping operations.
