Half my 'rads from the 90s are dead.
Half. Like I said, I'm just a dumb ape... but I'm through monkeying around.
Purportedly the USA is trying to talk Ukraine out of targeting Russia's oil industries. Purportedly. If that be the case belay that order.
Friendly reminder: Putin murdered a Forbes journalist.
We are not stopping attacks on Russian oil industries. We are intensifying them. Strikes shall continue and intensify.
“We do not encourage or enable attacks inside of Russia,” an NSC spokesperson said.
This is true. Don't worry, we don't need encouragement. Nice car, Glavmin!
I encourage and enable attacks on oil infrastructure anywhere inside "Russia" and any areas temporarily occupied by Russia. But let me ask my handlers whether we can do some of the things we haven't done, yet! Why, the nerve of some people! Such ingrates! Why I never…
China's switching to renewables anyway and we are not going to interfere with that and China has plenty of coal to burn.
Mr. President has to figure out that even though the USA is a key contributor to Ukraine, so are Britain, France, Germany and that yours truly can get the Chinese to do just what Mr. President actually wants done, even if he could never say so publicly.
Russia Burns. Get used to it.
After all! Greta whatserface wants you to stop using hydrocarbons. So we're gonna get to 100% as in 0 Russian hydrocarbons. Welcome to decarbonization 2.0, and Russian fertilizer for Ukrainian flowers!
We're gonna get there by promising China adequate energy, say from Vietnam and te South China Sea and Mynamar and also promising China economic stability.
Remember: In War, The Enemy Gets a Vote.
And they vote with bullets.
Only half my 'rads are dead.
I wonder what the other half are willing to do,
and to whom
and why?
The coalition we have gathered is unique in human history.
You can be certain Putin will try to break it.
You can also be certain I will not let him do that.
工党外交部分需要根美国谈判如何东方恶国会再成为中国.
In other words the USA needs to have a serious private talk with China about how what used to be the "Russian" far east will be independent countries (e.g. Nenets) or revert to Chinese and Japanese control. The more cooperation one offers the more cooperation one gets. Japan and China could split further apart or could go closer together which is why I recommend formal discussions in private about what is acceptable to each. Korean reunification should be held in abeyance until after the end of Putin's ongoing war crime and the dissolution of the "Russian" Federation.
Maybe instead of telling Ukraine how to die to save your profits you should kick down more food to Gazans before all the other Arabs decide to oil embargo like it's 1974 or 9/11 2.0, hm? I guess all those weapons Canada isn't going to give to Israel will proooooooobably wind up in Ukraine eh? What's that? You say you put the Man in Manitoba and the Can in Canada? Why, I have no idea what That means. Je me souviens de quoi exactement?

If you want him to get back to America safe and sound as quickly as possible to give TRADOC all those lessons learned from contemporary combat experience then burn the fucking Russian oilfields, duh.

THE PROBLEM OF DEMAGOGUES MISLEADING THE PEOPLE
There is a fairly common dynamic in human history. A popular powerful charismatic leader comes to power, whips the people into frenzies of fear or even hate, and the next thing you know we have a war with millions of dead people. Why does this happen?
Partly, it is the intellectual limits of ordinary people. International relations requires knowledge of foreign languages, distant geography, global history, economics, religion, climate culture the list goes on. Most people don't know the basics of international relations, including many popular charismatic leaders. Why should ordinary people care about foreign languages, foreign history, or even geography?
The problem of global governance is the fact that one country's citizens are not constituents in the other countries' governments. Why shouldn't Trump or Putin shit on the heads of foreigners, after all they cannot vote for him. Putin’s protege Trump is just the latest example of the demagogue dynamic. And it's democratic! Thugs can absolutely gain majority support.
More or less the charismatic leader taps into the desires and fears of the ordinary people -- and their resentments against the elites who rule over them. They have grievances, often legitimate ones. And why shouldn't that governing elite send those troublesome losers overseas to die en masse for their stupid nationalist ideals, just so you understand one of the reasons I hate liberals more than you.
The USA and China are currently having an ideological spat about what is democracy and who has democracy. Our common goal should be how to help each other build better democratic institutions, better laws, better protections of human rights, in both countries: like we're so perfect. Half those dead people up there at the start of this post are in fact evidence that no, not everything is perfect in we see Führtherland. -100,000 dead of drugs in one year, -1 million dead of virus. Of course they will blame China, most people don't want to blame themselves for their own mistakes, even though that is the best way to improve one's position. My point isn't: USA sucks. My point is: don't dare think yourselves perfect. You are not. Have some humility. When American ideas and ideals were still strongly held the majority knew the USA was not perfect, but sought after perfections.
America promises you the the pursuit of happiness. Not "you are happy its all perfect" life is imperfect. But you pursue good goals and improve.
The one which believes more in self improvement will win.
POLITICAL ARBITRAGE
"Political arbitrage" is a term that combines concepts from finance and politics. In finance, arbitrage refers to the practice of exploiting differences in the price of an asset or security between two or more markets to make a profit with little to no risk. Essentially, it involves buying low in one market and selling high in another market to take advantage of price discrepancies.
In the context of political arbitrage, the term is used metaphorically to describe the exploitation of differences in political conditions or policies between different regions or jurisdictions for personal or organizational gain. It refers to the strategic leveraging of political differences to achieve a competitive advantage, often in business or investment activities.
For example, a company might engage in political arbitrage by strategically locating its operations or investments in jurisdictions with favorable regulatory environments, tax policies, or government incentives. By capitalizing on variations in political conditions, businesses can optimize their operations, reduce costs, or maximize profits.
Political arbitrage can also involve activities such as lobbying, campaign contributions, or political maneuvering to influence government policies or regulations in a way that benefits specific interests or stakeholders.
Overall, political arbitrage involves navigating and exploiting the complexities of political systems and policies to gain a competitive edge or achieve specific objectives in business, investment, or other endeavors.
QUALA (QUALIS)
I had thought quala was a recognized word in English. Quanta are numerical measures of things. Quala are qualitative measures. Quala is the genitve of qualis, thus means of or having a certain quality. Qualis is Latin. Likely I heard or read that word used by a non-native speaker from one of the romance language countries in some conference or paper. You now have a way to spice up your conversation, and be erudite, or sophist, depending on whether you fact check me with wiktionary and translate.google.com
IMBRICATE
Some Yale prof didn't know it was a word in English, and it very much is. It means mutually overlapping and supporting, enmeshed. If you look at a rooftop you can see an example where clay tiles are imbricated into each other, though one may also do that with shingles or metaphorically by extension as a concept. Tiles on top keep the tiles on the bottom in place. Tiles on the bottom support the tiles on top so drainage does not destroy them thanks to eventual rot which would result in the roof.
SILENT WEAPONS FOR QUIET WARS: WARGAMING MORALE AND TRAINING
I put some more thought into combat equations, which may be modelled roughly this way.
(quantity*quality(weapons))*(quantity(men)*((leadership+morale+training+supply)-(fatigue+exhaustion))
In war these variables condition victory: training, morale, fatigue (i.e. sleep), health, exhaustion (i.e. muscular), leadership, equipment, supply.
The best wargames would have imperfect information and no random elements but because then there would be too many factors to evaluate and simulate we use random data to simulate those, e.g. weather patterns. Imperfect information games can be simulated with computers or stratego style hidden units, but most hobbyist wargames assume perfect information, that one knows the disposition of all ones own and all the enemy forces. War is not like that, the information, even about one's own side is always imperfect.
Determining the importance of each variable to victory in war requires a comprehensive analysis that integrates both quantitative and qualitative approaches. While some variables can be readily quantified, others require qualitative methods.
1. Quantifiable Variables:
- Training, Health, Equipment, Supply: These variables often have measurable indicators such as training hours, medical statistics (casualty rates, injury rates), equipment functionality (availability, reliability), and supply chain metrics (timeliness, quantity, quality, theft, pilfering, bribery, this is where to attack the Russian supply chain). Historical data, statistics, and performance metrics quantify the impact of these variables on military effectiveness. Regression analysis, correlation studies, and comparative assessments can help determine their importance to victory.
2. Qualitative Variables:
- Morale, Fatigue, Exhaustion, Leadership: These variables involve subjective experiences, perceptions, and interpersonal dynamics that are not easily quantified. - Morale: Conduct interviews, surveys, or focus groups with soldiers to explore their attitudes, motivations, and emotional states. Qualitative analysis can reveal the impact of morale on unit cohesion, resilience, and combat effectiveness. Themes such as camaraderie, sense of purpose, and trust in leadership can emerge from qualitative data.
- Fatigue, Exhaustion: Use qualitative methods such as interviews, observations, and participant observation to understand soldiers' experiences of physical and mental fatigue. Explore their coping mechanisms, perceptions of fatigue management strategies, and the impact of exhaustion on performance and decision-making.
- Leadership: Read and apply FM-21-10
3. Integrating Quantitative and Qualitative Analysis:
- Combine quantitative data (e.g., casualty rates, mission success rates) with qualitative insights (e.g., soldiers' narratives, leadership anecdotes) to develop a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between variables and victory. Triangulation of data from multiple sources enhances the validity and reliability of your analysis.
- Identify patterns, correlations, and causal relationships between variables through mixed-methods approaches. For example, quantitative analysis may reveal a correlation between equipment reliability and mission success rates, while qualitative analysis may uncover how leadership practices influence morale and unit cohesion.
- Use qualitative data to contextualize and interpret quantitative findings. Qualitative insights provide explanatory power to quantitative results.
RANKING AND WEIGHTING FACTORS
Ranking the importance of each factor to attaining victory in battle is complex. The significance of each factor can vary depending on terrain, objectives, and adversaries involved. Generally speaking they can be ranked as follows:
1. Leadership: Effective leadership is often considered the most critical factor in achieving victory in battle. A strong and capable leader can inspire, motivate, and guide troops to overcome challenges and capitalize on opportunities.
2. Morale: High morale can significantly enhance a military force's resilience, cohesion, and combat effectiveness. Soldiers with strong morale are more likely to withstand adversity, maintain discipline, and fight tenaciously even in the face of daunting odds.
3. Training: Well-trained and disciplined troops are better prepared to execute missions, adapt to changing circumstances, and employ tactics effectively on the battlefield.
4. Equipment: While equipment alone cannot guarantee victory, having superior weapons, armor, and logistical support can provide a significant advantage on the battlefield. The technological superiority of the British Royal Navy's ships, particularly during the Age of Sail, allowed them to dominate naval warfare and secure victories such as the Battle of Trafalgar against the combined French and Spanish fleets.
5. Supply: Adequate and reliable logistical support is essential for sustaining military operations, maintaining combat readiness, and sustaining morale.
6. Health: The physical well-being of soldiers directly impacts performance and endurance on the battlefield. Proper medical care, sanitation, and preventive measures are crucial for maintaining combat effectiveness and reducing casualties. Mental health is also vital but immeasurable: soldiers who know why we are fighting, why our cause is just, who understand their missions, and trust their commanders, will perform better. Mental health remains an issue after the war. The effective management of disease and sanitation by the Union Army's Medical Department during the American Civil War contributed to the overall health and readiness of Union forces.
7. Fatigue: Fatigue, notably sleep deprivation, impairs performance and decision-making. However, thorough training reduces this problem. Soldiers who have trained on a task hundreds of times in all conditions will perform the task under fire, in bad weather, and even when sleep deprived. Fatigue is thus less significant compared to other factors.
8. Exhaustion: Muscular exhaustion or physical fatigue can affect individual soldiers' performance and endurance during prolonged engagements or forced marches. While fatigue management is essential for maintaining combat effectiveness, its direct impact on battle outcomes may be more indirect compared to other factors.
