Prigozhin: Russian State Cannot Protect the Country
how-Prigozhin… (with audio to work on your listening comprehension & rest your eyes)
Russia-T-55-tanks-Ukraine “‘In the first Gulf War, in 1991 for example, the American and British tanks were knocking out Iraqi T-55s from 23 kilometers,’ Delaney said.” Analysis: That’s either a typo, he mis-spoke, or an indirect fire. Indirect fire with tanks is unlikely, especially at such long range. A much more realistic range for a direct-fire tank kill is 2300m, in other words 2.3km. How large does an 18 wheel truck which is 23km from you look? This article claims the longest range tank on tank kill is 10km. Someone confused meters and kilometers.
William Burns, a C.I.A. Spymaster With Unusual Powers
“The two men are not related. Like R. Nicholas Burns, William Burns is a career Foreign Service official. He has served as assistant secretary of state for Near Eastern affairs as well as ambassador to Jordan.” See also: Taipei Times.

Germanys-scholz-calls-for-reformed-eu-in-multipolar-world
Analysis: In case you haven’t already noticed: A multipolar world is far more violent than a unipolar world. A couple weeks ago we saw France (Macron) calling for EU strategic autonomy, while preaching policies which many EU Member States oppose. Now it’s Scholz’s turn. Briefly: During the cold war the European Communities made a great deal of economic and military sense. Germany needed French military might and diplomatic prestige. France needed German economic power. Of course, back then, NATO was meant to keep the USA in, Russia out, and Germany (both of them!) down. But that’s not the current reality. Currently it is evident Europe can and must be ready to defend itself against Russia. But Germany is no longer divided, and neither France nor Germany actually need the other. Meanwhile, they also don’t need the USA to prevent a Russian invasion of Europe. Germany and France might and could continue as the tandem driving Europe. But the destruction of Russia as a military power and ideological and economic commonality means that we are entering either a bi-polar era defined by U.S.-China conflict or a return to unipolarity led by the USA cooperating with China. Friendly reminder: the USA is China’s largest trading and investment partner. The USA is the world’s fourth largest Chinese country by population (and climbing). China and the USA are both commercially minded, wealth-getters, with a strong isolationist streak. Many prominent U.S. people (Bill Gates, Mitch McConnell, William Alford (Harvard Law) are literally married to Chinese people. They want to get rich more than they want to kill each other. I expect China and the USA will both take up semi-isolationist policies, that the USA will seek to contain China militarily and obtain that, and that China will seek to maintain trade and investment relations with Western countries and will likely obtain that. Though, France, China, and Germany can and likely will vie and contend or at least plan and implement whatever is left of rump-Russia after it finishes its attempt at murder-suicide.

Analysis: China is fundamentally conservative about the use of force: why risk Chinese lives? Why risk China’s reputation. This is one more reason the USA and Chna will in the end find mutually acceptable or at least mutually tolerable positions.
