Meimeng was a Chinese-American. Her family emigrated from Taiwan.
Growing up she had a boyfriend in China Town
But it was time to go to college…
Meimeng studied so hard in high school.. to get into a good university… she wanted to be a pilot.
Some of Meimengs friends told her that wasn’t realistic. Others supported her.
Meimeng & her family were thrilled when she got into Air Force ROTC.
Her boyfriend… not so much… he went to a different college & so they broke up…
Meimeng & her new friends studied hard and started to learn to fly on training aircraft
Meimeng’s unit did all the schools including SERE survival school! (Search, Evasion, Rescu, Extraction)
SERE school was the toughest training, really realistic but in you have to have it in case of getting shot down.
Finally Meimeng graduated! She was able to fly real jets, not just trainers and turboprops!
Meimeng & Some of her friends even dared to dream about being astronauts one day!

They ended their military careers to pursue civil aviation, flying passenger aircraft everywhere touching the pacific ocean.
They were married soon thereafter.
They followed their dreams until they figured out — they were each other’s dream.
