I’ve been hinting at Trump’s criminality and foreign intelligence connections since at least 2019.
China to participate in Ukraine peace talks in Saudi Arabia
Let’s not get our hopes too high. I pointed this out last week. If you want a "non catastrophic" solution to the problem of Russia this is your chance. However, the so-called "catastrophic" solution is 1. likeliest 2. preferable! Russia is a criminal regime led by a criminal clique and for this reason must be splintered apart and recivilized. One of the greatest civilizations in human history can well benefit from the so-called "catastrophic" victory.
Your only realistic peace approach currently, and it's really unlikely is: immediate ceasefire, and immediately thereafter interposition of around 250,000 U.N. Peacekeepers. This would stop the fighting. I am sorry: you are both too greedy and fearful to dare empower Chinese peacekeepers or Chinese diplomacy. That's the solution. 250k peacekeepers and ceasefire. It's terribly unlikely. Moreover,I favor the so-called "catastrophic" solution! I have very exact ideas about how China would benefit from that. My point is: if you wish to disempower Chinese diplomacy now, very well -- but if you do, you will simply hold in abeyance Chinese power for later expression in the solution that You WRONGLY describe as "catastrophic". When the Putin regime cracks, crumbles, and falls I will celebrate! You don't think you want that, but that's too bad: in any war "the enemy gets a vote". Oh, and they vote with bullets. Or, more nicely, what You might (wrongly!) regard as a sub-optimal solution is not necessarily what is sub-optimal. BTW 20+ years of global war on terror, -3 Trillion U$D, maybe listen to me this time around?
America is China's "No Famine, No Matter What" Friend.
China has a secret weapon. It's called 中国文化。It is powerful, like a mirror or a magnifying glass.
America has a secret weapon: it's called Food. However you may criticize the American Republic -- it is and remains the world's agricultural powerhouse.
Throughout history, no matter how great the threat, no matter what the government, the United States Government, and the American People alike have never permitted famine. In every instance of a famine, the USA has offered food aid. This aid has not always been accepted.
Why does the U.S.A. feed its literal enemies? There are good reasons of State to do so.
1. Starving people have no choice but war.
2. Starving people make bad decisions: for example, starting a war.
3. Fed people tend to be grateful.
4. Fed people can buy your other products.
A key aspect of preserving peace is allaying the fears, no matter how unrealistic, of one's counterpart(s).
China fears famine. Who could blame them, giving China's extensive tragic history of famine after famine, of bloody civil war after civil war.
Another great “secret” of American power? The United States of America keeps its promises.
Currently, Ukraine is cashing a non-binding moral promise the United States made. Even the mere implicit promises are kept.
Again, there are very good reasons of State for this.
1. By keeping our word, paying our debts, not breaking our contracts, respecting the conditions of treaties we ourselves freely entered into we
a) Generate Trust. This is the most powerful weapon, and why I have strategic confidence in the USA, despite all the failings and flaws.
b) Generate certainty.
Trust and certainty in turn enable all sorts of investments. Investors in the USA know that their property will not be confiscated. Investors in the USA also know their contracts will be fairly and openly adjudicated. This certitude in turn attracts capital, construction, investments, and trade.
Knowing that the USA repays its debt obligations, those with capital who seek a safe investment gladly lend money to the USA in the form of U.S. Treasury Bonds. I have two more secret weapons on that account, which I shall not betray. I have red teamed this issue extensively. Even in the worst of all worst cases the U.S. dollar will remain the global medium of exchange. Did I Mention? I did take a tax law degree at Paris II. Of course I did.
2. By keeping our word we have built the world’s strongest networks of defense and trade. Only France and Britain can rival the USA for the extent and depth of their trade and alliance networks. “Roots have spread out from the Tree of the Great Peace, one to the north, one to the east, one to the south and one to the west. The name of these roots is the Great White Roots and their nature is Peace and Strength.”
My question is not how to destroy the EU. My question is how to extend it across oceans.
Works of destruction are easy but wretched. To build something durable, powerful, transcendent in contrast is very difficult yet worth all the efforts.
Yes, ripping China to shreds, plunging it into another civil war and famine are possible: so is becoming a serial killer, a rapist. Things which are possible for one to do are possibly undesirable.
Fear Of Famine is only one Chinese fear. So is a bad economy and war on Taiwan.
The Next Ukraine?
Another more recent Chinese fear that we see below is the fear that Taiwan will turn into "the next Ukraine".
It will not.
There are legal, economic, political, and military reasons for this.
Militarily, About a month ago, I explained the United States will in fact defend Taiwan. Yes, the USA will go to war against the PRC if the PRC invades the ROC. This is how deterrence works. I am sure you don't want to kill your own relatives across the straits. But if I am wrong I take steps to make sure you don't.
Diplomatically, while vigilantly preparing to defend Taiwan, the USA will cultivate and improve cross-straits and trans-pacific relations. Why? May I remind you? America is the world's fourth largest Chinese country by population. Possibly larger if we measure instead by concentration of wealth. They are literally relatives. Much more so than in the USA, Chinese culture, including political culture, is centered strongly on the family as the basic unit of political life. The Chinese Americans are not hostages, but are one more reason why China will not wage war against the USA.
Economically: American and Chinese people both love wealth more than they want war and they also love wealth even more than they love each other. This is an odd basis for military confidence, yet is culturally entirely true. Example? China literally invented paper money. Maybe invented coinage, too.
Legally: Just as the USA guaranties to repay its bond obligations it also guaranties its defense agreements. The Taiwan Relations Act, which is binding and legally enforceable domestic law of the United States, makes crystal clear that the USA has a legal obligation to defend Taiwan. We are currently fulfilling a political and moral obligation to Ukraine. If this is what we do in the face of a piecrust promise you may well imagine exactly what we would do in the face of the real deal…
The same facts which make U.S. bonds so attractive to Chinese investors also make U.S. security guaranties to Chinese Taiwan necessary and credible. Paradoxically, this in turn guaranties that our investors will never be our military enemy. Just like the USA will defend Taiwan, it will also repay its bond obligations. China will not go to war in Taiwan, and consequently the CCP will remain in power, and there will be no more Chinese civil wars as cross-straits legal and political relations improve.
I explain these "secrets" of American power in part hopeful that they will reduce Chinese fears, making miscalculation and inapt reaction by the PRC government, the CCP, less likely. It is unlikely, but entirely possible, China will emulate the American penchant for always keeping our word, no matter what. If it were to do so, it would build trust, attracting trade, then trading partners, and finally even allies. If China truly wants "a 100 year race" there it is. To win you would need to be more trustworthy more benevolent and more trusting than the USA.
In the meanwhile, “no matter what”: I expect bilateral U.S.-Chinese treaties that in turn may allay fears and reduce tendencies to conflict.
China's path to "Victory" in Taiwan is not military. Obviating conflict is the wisest way to attain the fruits of victory because it is less destructive of lives and property. A Chinese invasion of Taiwan would result in the ouster of the Chinese Head of State, much like Galtieri's invasion of the Falklands led to his ouster. A failed Chinese invasion of Taiwan might also lead to the ouster of the CCP. The Chinese military are brave, not cowards, but they are inexperienced, untrained, and how motivated would the Chinese be to kill other Chinese people?
“This royal throne of kings, this scepter’d isle,
This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars,
This other Eden, demi-paradise,
This fortress built by Nature for herself
Against infection and the hand of war,
This happy breed of men, this little world,
This precious stone set in the silver sea,
Which serves it in the office of a wall
Or as a moat defensive to a house,
Against the envy of less happier lands" Shakespeare
It is tough for people to accept that they are in fact in their optimal position, their best possible world: because many of us are acquisitive, desire power, and often over-estimate our own capacities, failing to appreciate the risks and consequences of miscalculations. Putin is the perfect example of that. China, never having suffered a war in 40+ years, is in its optimal position. I point out the CCP could end just like the Argentinian Junta did in 1982 not to bring that about but instead to create the reality where the CCP recognizes it ought not invade Chinese Taiwan. That would enable China to better devote its maritime resources to trade and development notably through humanitarian relief in disaster zones and anti-piracy operations.
You see, part of being powerful is having the power to attract voluntary compliance, adherence, and emulation through the persuasive power of good ideas. We are good to others in part to benefit ourselves. This is the “secret” of American power: Not merely defending, but also actually listening, to our allies. Example? Turkiye had better intel. And then…
"Our Roman Republic, by defending its allies, has got possession of the world." Marcus Tulius Cicero

Brief Note on Learning to Read Chinese:
I recommend learning to read Chinese as soon as possible, although it can be challenging at first. Chinese has very many homophones, similar to how English has words like 'to,' 'too,' and 'two.' Homophones are abundant in Chinese, but the use of characters helps disambiguate their meanings. When I watch Chinese TV with subtitles, I can comprehend around 90% of the content, but without subtitles, it drops to 60-80%, depending on the complexity of the pronunciation and my interest in the topic. The Chinese Characters convey meanings through their appearance, making the writing a kind of shorthand for pictures. Learning to read will help you truly understand Chinese language and culture.

This ends with Putin dead or in the dock for war crimes. The R”Russian” Federation will be split apart into its constituent republics. Komi, Mari and other Finnic nations are most likely to be the first to rebel and secede. Then the Turkic republics.

At times, exceptionally, a small quantity of high quality forces, well trained and equipped, can exert a decisive influence on a battle despite being desperate and outnumbered. Generally however, a large mass of less well trained or motivated or armed soldiery will overwhelm a numerically inferior force.
Exceptional forces can perform exceptionally well, but it's the exception.

Interestingly, China is starting to post to CGTN in Russian. More usually they had posted in Chinese with Russian subtitles. That appears to have changed as seen below:

It may be helpful to point out: just like we can eradicate Russian influence in North Korea and Mongolia it is also terribly unlikely we will be able to truly draw away either from China. This should not however perturb NATO. There are plenty of outcomes where North Korea finally reforms and draws closer to South Korea and where both Mongolias (Yes.) draw closer to each other building a happier more productive planet.

Power and Poverty
Recently I learned that one variety of evil person Wants others to be poor -- because poor people are easier to control, easier to hold in submission, too busy just surviving to try to oppose their enemies, and poor people are also easier to whip into a frenzy.
I am unsure what to do with this new piece of knowledge.
Religions’ Potential and Problem
All State power, it seems, is in its origin, invokes religious justifications, which are themselves reflections of the family. This appears to be a fairly universal fact of human existence. Another fairly universal fact is that people need and desire to understand their existence, to find meaning and joy or at least peace and tranquility. “All men by nature desire to know.” Aristotle
Yet, the abuse of religion by tricksters leads to literal witch hunts, crusades, jihads, and various con-artist schemes which boil down to: taking credulous suckers’ money by lying to them pleasantly.
The problem of religion is the delusion of the religious: they Want to believe. They lack adequate materialist connection to connect their ideas to facts and then let the facts speak. Some of it is wishful thinking: wouldn't it be nice if you had a perfect all-powerful father who loved you? Some of it is deception: false leaders only too glad to dupe and fool suckers. Some of it is desperation: religion is the last hope of those with no hope. The capacity of religion to offer hope, meaning, and justification explain its power.
We must understand the hope and promise of religion to actually deliver it in reality that which people require and desire, while leading people into knowledge and out of fear, hate, ignorance. In short: we must free them from their suffering.
