I’ve been pointing out the obvious conclusions for about a year now. Glad to see my predictions coming true. More of my predictions will also become reality. For examples: Ukraine, after it wins, will wind up joining the EU and NATO. You may refer to me as “Captain Obvious” in other words you can achieve anything if you don’t care who gets the credit for your hard work. I’m a victory at any price kinda fella.

Most likely the post-Putin world will see a reformation of the United Nations, though exactly how is still an open question. It is likely Russia’s UN Security Council Veto will not survive the war Russia started without UN authorization.

ukraines-military-intelligence-chief-predicts-how-war-will-end While we may hope illness, age, or assassination eliminate Putin these are nothing we can plan on. Likeliest outcome is still: military collapse on the front line fueling domestic revolution, more or less a replay of 1917.
China is not however preparing itself for either UN Security Council reform nor for a renewed Russian Communist Party. These strategic oversights may be the result of fixation on trade, deflecting from the true origins of the Wuhan virus, and Taiwan or instead as mere ideological consistency, a choice to not break with China’s stated positions on its own neutrality and non-intervention in other states domestic affairs.

Ukrainian-armed-forces’ death-net this badly written headline helps us understand English better if we just analyze it. Whose net is it? The Ukrainian armed forces, that’s who. So it is better interpreted as the Ukrainians owning the net rather than being caught in it. “The Ukrainian army’s network of death for Russians” would have been unambiguous. When drafting contracts you must make sure to avoid ambiguity! Who owns that net? What is trapped in that net? Who owns what is trapped in that net?

Recently the Two Sessions, which is China’s effort at non-CCP party legitimation and popular feedback, coincided with the release of statements by Xi Jinping about foreign relations in “the new era”. Most notably, Xi evoked the idea of international society as “a hundred flowers”, which reiterates Mao’s domestic campaign to cultivate competing theories within China and the CCP. This is another example of the rehabilitation of Maoist thought in China and the normalization of a cult of personality. The former might have some positive contributions for China or even the world, the latter likely does not. Liberals correctly point out the fact any individual eventually makes mistakes. Liberals also point out that any single leader is likelier to arrogate benefit to himself and/or to his faction. The limitations of individuals explain why liberalism since at least Aristotle seeks governance by rational principles rather than by individuals, why in democracy the governed and the governors take turns in each others’ role.
At the same time, a new purported “reservoir” animal for China’s little bio-weapon gone bad, has emerged. Meet the racoon dog! A monogamous canid which looks a bit like a cross between a fox and a racoon. Note that foxes in Chinese culture are symbolic of those women who engage in illicit affairs with married men. So the political sub-text about the racoon dog narrative is about marital fidelity in conflicts with third party interlopers. But it goes beyond that. In American culture, “coon” as in racoon is a pejorative epithet to describe black people, who are (wrongly) thought to be thieves. Dogs, of course, are on the menu in China, at least historically. So, this particular purported reservoir animal can be used to “milk” discrimination against black people, Chinese people, or even Japanese people, where the racoon dog is native. Racoon dog narratives can also be used to refer to mistresses. So, in addition to distracting everyone from the real issue, China’s bio weapons program, with a non-issue (the search for the non-existent “reservoir” animal) CCP propaganda will use this newest “reservoir” animal as a way to foster and provoke racial and sex conflicts.
Pangolins, civets, squirrels, bats, the list of suspected “reservoir” animals is unending.
So is “scrubbing” data: distract and delete, until . . .
