Yes, Trump will do more or less just as you say, it's all about the self-serving grift and suckering the rubes. However, because he is utterly ignorant of military strategy, tactics, foreign languages, and diplomacy --he's all about the interpersonal-- he can be outmaneuvered (and will be). He's not the only actor, not by a long shot.

What matters is *Ukrainian lives*. Greek had 500yrs of Ottoman occupation and some of the worst living conditions for a non-muslim populace and yet they survived and *became free again*. Freedom becomes a myth which lives for as long as it needs.
